SARDINIA AT CHRISTMAS

It is no wonder that the second holiday season in a pandemic, with looming lockdowns and travel restrictions, many have pursued sanctuary in Sardinia to spend the holidays. The tranquillity of the island during the holiday season, warm Mediterranean sunshine, breath taking landscapes and Italian Christmas tradition have always provided the perfect backdrop to a peaceful winter holiday.

Some of the festive celebrations start as early as the 8th December, creating a wonderful atmosphere throughout the month. Sardinian Christmas festivals in town squares across the region, as well as Cortes Apertas (meaning ‘open courtyards’), are just some of the timeless traditions where one can choose to enjoy homemade artisan foods such as roast chestnuts, hot chocolate and Panettone.

Christmas in Sardinia is a beautiful time, where families come together for one of the most prominent holidays in the Italian calendar. A white zone destination, copious amounts of delicious local food and an abundance of feel-good spirit, we’re sure that you’ll have a magical stay.
